Dr. Vinod Dhunna

Dr. Dhunna is well respected and experienced contemporary veterinarian who has enjoyed working in the field of veterinary medicine for over 20 years. He graduated in 1996 and started working as a small and large animal veterinarian. Later he moved to Canada and started practising as a veterinarian in the lower mainland in 2012. He worked in different hospitals in the lower mainland gaining much experience and also worked as a relief vet in California. His special interests are internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, clinical pathology and dentistry. He bought 1st Ave Animal hospital in June 2015. This clinic is a family-oriented and modern practice that ensures efficient, timely and compassionate care for the community and their pets.

Raman P

Raman joined as a manager in January 2017. She ensures the hospital staff is working efficiently while also interacting with the patient’s owners. She grew up in a family that was always surrounded with animals and since then she has grown fond of working with them. She has had several pets throughout her life, including Bella, an adorable calico cat new addition to her family

Phaedra Smith

Phaedra grew up with animals and always knew she was going to work with them.

She graduated with an award in academic excellence from VHA Program at Steinberg College in 2004 and has worked in Emergency/Critical Care as well as family practice ever since.

She shares her home with Leeka, a lovable Tabby, Gruesome, her big black Lab/Doberman mutt and Khafre the Corn Snake.

Mariah Salvail

My name is Mariah I have always loved animals since I was a child.

Growing up with cats and dogs, I wanted a career where I was able to care for them. In 2015, I went to Vancouver Career College and did the VOA course to start my journey of helping animals and their owners.

Currently, I don’t have any pets of my own, but in the future, I plan to have some.

Jisoo K

Jisoo is an aspiring veterinarian who has been working in the veterinary medical field for the last four years of her life. Over the years, along with working in animal hospitals, Jisoo has fostered cats, owned horses, budgies, and rodents. Born and raised in Vancouver, Jisoo is currently back home from the United States, where she attends university.

She has been an avid animal lover since she was very young, and recently rescued a beautiful Shetland Sheepdog by the name of Lady.

Lovejot K

Lovejot has been working part-time at 1st Ave Animal Hospital since September 2018. She recently migrated to Vancouver and is doing a degree in Health Sciences. Lovejot is working as Veterinary Assistant and she loves being with pets. Working here has been a great learning experience for her.
